The composition is based on the real location – The Tower of the Vytautas the Great War Museum in the Unity Square, Kaunas (view the photo). Its 49-bell carillon is being played every day at midday. The first carillonists of Kaunas were composers Viktoras Kuprevičius and his son Giedrius Kuprevičius (view the photo). In the foreground of the painting is depicted one of the lions – symbols of power and might – gifted to the museum by Earl J.J. Tiškevičius in 1938.
